What the Heck is 8:08?

We are a group of college students and young professionals endeavoring to bring change to a nation.

About us…

This generation needs to know that Jesus is the only way. There are absolutes. We need to live lives of no compromise, no tolerance of evil. We are called to love people. Love is not tolerance. We love people as they are, accept people where they are, and forgive people no matter what. But we CANNOT TOLERATE  evil and sin.

Why 8:08…

The number Eight means New Beginnings.

I have some friends from up north, Barb and Ruth, who raved about their church, named 8:08, as a real, relevant place of growth and fellowship with like-minded young adults.  God has given us a vision to establish a group with this same relevance and passion in Sarasota-Bradenton. When I asked God for a name that would give this group identity, He was quiet.  All I could hear was 8:08.

Naturally I rolled the idea back, thinking, “Hey, I want to be original, I want to be unique.” Then He spoke,

“This is what I am doing.  It’s time for a new beginning, it’s time for change.”

God’s people are instigating change throughout the nation and the world, including Sarasota-Bradenton.  How exciting, we not only get to do things FOR God, but we also get to  join what HE is already doing!
