8:08pm | It’s Time For More Than Change

I used to work in a clothing store.  It was a store that went into chapter 11 before there were true financial issues in America.. and no,  I did not have anything to do with the bankruptcy. While I worked there, I saw a lot of really odd things.  This was a small store in the mall and it sold guys and girls clothing.  One of my favorite things to do was when a mom and daughter came in I played dress up with them.  Moms loved it and the daughters just thought that  I was cute, so that really helped with commissions!

One of the funniest memories is when a mom and daughter were arguing about pant sizes… and the daughter wanted to go a size smaller…  Well you can see where this might be going.  She tried on the smaller size and after much jumping and squeezing she walked out of the dressing room.  Much to my surprise the pants were on, but there was a lot of her that was not in them.  But she walked about for a minute and the pants stretched out and more and more of her went back into place.  So, she was not a size 6, (more like a 10) but my point is that the pants could hold more than what they claimed, but it took a bit of walking uncomfortably to work them into the new size.

We are the same way.  It takes a bit of discomfort for us to work faith into us.  The Faith of God is HUGE and we are supposed to operate with that.  Not faith IN God but we are supposed to walk WITH HIS FAITH.  Not just trusting that God can do it, but operating in what God wants to do.  That is a perspective shifter for most of us.

This idea takes us from inactive to proactive.  Having faith that God said he will do it, so He will.  Having the faith of God says that we will do it even if we can’t see it.  We have to be his hands, His feet, and His voice.  If I wait for Him, and then Do as He says then I have truly obeyed.  If I think that He will just do it and I will by some chance walk into that then I am looking for God to be my candy man.

THE WORK IS TO BELIEVE!  To have the faith of God is to step out into areas that feel hard and that are only things God can do.  If we can do it then why would we need faith?  Be careful though, only step when God directs.
