What is an 808 Encounter Weekend?

All of us get stuck in life and can't seem to go forward spiritually and relationally. Discouragement, doubt and fear then begin to set in.

The 808 Encounter Weekend provides the place, time, and opportunity for you to spend personal, devoted time with God that will help you move beyond your present spiritual state and into a stronger, more intimate relationship with Christ.

What happens at an Encounter Retreat?

A series of teachings are presented that help you to establish or deepen your relationship with God, lead you through times of forgiveness and healing, and help you to let God take your hurts, wounds, fears, doubts, and burdens, and bring you to a place of freedom and restoration.

The teachings are focused on God and what He can - and wants - to do in your life. Time is provided so that each person can interact with God on an individual basis. People truly experience God on an Encounter speaking with them, healing them, and delivering them from their pain, fears, and strongholds.

You will never be put on the spot, asked to pray out loud, forced to share, or anything else that makes you uncomfortable. The focus is on the interaction between you and God, not you and others who attend.

What is the Cost?

The cost for a participant is $30. Registration can be done online (at the bottom of this article) or get a registration form at the church. If you need assistance with the $30, let a member of the mentor leadership team know. The cost covers materials, food and snacks for the weekend.

What is the schedule?

Friday -- 6PM to 10PM
Saturday -- 8:30AM to 10PM
Sunday -- 8:30AM to Noon.

Our Christmas party will be on Sunday, December 18. It will be at Dale and Sue's house located at 7550 Bee Ridge Road. There will be:

• Some soft drink to share -- something BIGGER than 20 oz.

We are gearing up for the relaunch of 808. The official launch will be on December 15th. Call it 808 2.0 if you want. We are focusing on the needs of the various stages and decisions that face the college & career adults of today. We will explore the Bible and each other to gain insight on:
